CPSC, Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. Announce Recall of Snowmobiles
The hazard
The starter ring gear may crack, causing fragmentation and debris, which may act as a projectile at high speeds. A projectile could cause serious injury or death.
Incidents reported: BRP has received one report of debris from the ring gear causing a minor injury to the driver's hand.
What to do now
Owners of affected units will be notified directly. Consumers should contact an authorized Ski-Doo dealer to schedule an appointment for repair, free of charge.
