CPSC, Michaels Stores, Inc. Announce Recall of Halloween Candleholders

The hazard

Because of the lack of ventilation in these ceramic candleholders, the tealights can flare up, posing a risk of burns to consumers.

Incidents reported: Michaels Stores has received eight reports of flare-ups or scorching with these Halloween candleholders. Three consumers reportedly received minor burns to their fingers.

What to do now

Consumers should stop using these candleholders immediately and return them to any Michaels store for a refund.

About this recall

These ceramic Halloween tealight candleholders are in the shape of pumpkins, gourds, witch hats and ghosts. They are about 2.5 inches to 3.25 inches high. The orange sticker on the bottom of the candleholders reads "Made in China" and "MSI Irving, TX."
