CPSC, Polaris Industries Announce Recall of ATVs

The hazard

The mounting bolts on the front brake calipers were not tightened to the specified torque value. This may cause the bolts to loosen or fall out during operation, resulting in brake failure. This could result in severe injury or death.

Incidents reported: None reported.

What to do now

Consumers should contact their Polaris dealer to schedule an appointment. The dealer will apply the correct torque to the front brake caliper retaining bolts.

Full official description

Only Polaris model year 2003 Predator ATVs with model numbers A00GJ50AA and A00GJ50AB are part of this recall. The model number can be found on the lower left frame tube ahead of the engine. The ATVs have a red seat with gray and black chassis. "Predator" is prominently displayed on the right and left side of the front cab covering the fuel tank.
