CPSC, Specialized Bicycle Components Inc. Announce Recall of Bicycles Firms agree to stop importation until hazard is eliminated

The handlebar may loosen and turn unexpectedly, which can cause the rider to lose control and fall.

Incidents reported: Specialized has received two reports of the handlebars loosening. No injuries have been reported.

What to do now

Consumers should stop using the bicycles with these recalled handlebars and return the recalled handlebars to the place of purchase for replacement handlebars.

About this recall

The recalled handlebars were sold on the 2005 Allez Sport, 2005 Allez Elite, 2005 Roubaix (base model) and 2005 Sequoia (base model) bicycles. The model names are on the frame of the handlebar.
